Process

At NEB&M we attempt to explain to a customer that our goal is to create a treasure for them to enjoy. That can be a National Treasure, a Regional Treasure or a Family Treasure. If the owner doesn’t consider the boat as one of these treasures, then the project should not begin. It often costs more to restore a boat than it is worth, immediately after completion. Sometimes repayment for the cost of the restoration is achieved by the years of enjoyment rather than the value at selling the boat. So Mason advises a first time antique boat owner, to ride in as many boats as possible and spend time doing the research before jumping into a costly construction or restoration. That way the boat one buys, restores, or has built, will truly be the ‘boat of your dreams’.
